Definition of a Chaperone

A chaperone is an approved volunteer who supervises students during school events or field trips under the direction of school staff. You MUST have a background check through FBISD and check in at the school the morning of the Field Trip. Chaperones of field trips arrive at the venue, wait for the buses, and join staff to assist.

Parent attendance on field trips is restricted to approved chaperones only. Parents of students with special needs or special circumstances may request an exception; such requests must be reviewed and approved by school administrators. Pending approval background checks will still be mandatory.

Please note: 

• No chaperones allowed on the bus (FBISD rule).

• You MUST have a background check through FBISD. 

• You are responsible to cover your own fee at the venue.

• Due to venue restrictions not all Field Trips allow for Chaperones.
